The communities included Parade Gardens, Fletchers Land, Allman Town, Water House, Drews land, Tower hill, Majestic Gardens and Riverton City. It had a population of 840 students. The student-teacher ratio is 25:1 and one (1) teacher assistant. The students are from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. The purpose of the Rise Kidz Club is to provide an opportunity for children ages 8-14 years to participate in supervised recreational, educational, and social activities in a safe and wholesome environment. It enables them to learn the importance of leadership and the necessity of self-control. It offered remedial lessons, Grade 4 National Exam Lessons, Grade 6 National Exam Lessons, counselling, life, and social skills awareness sessions. The students in the different communities well attended this program. The Rise Kidz Club Adolescent Educational and Life Sills Programme "change lives for the better.", Reading Coordinator, Teacher of Remedial Learning (6–16-year-olds), Teacher of Grade 4 Literary and Numeracy Programme (National Exam Level), Teacher of Grade 6 Achievement Test (GSAT) Programme (National Exam Level), Summer camp coordinator, Field officer, Youth Activity Coordinator, Life and Social Skills Awareness Programme Assistant coordinator, I supported a balanced reading program through the implementation of reading and writing workshops and seminars., My pupils in Grade 6 successfully passed the National Exam (Grade Six Achievement Test) In Mathematics, English Language, Science, Social Studies, and Communication Task for the High school of choice with averages ranging from 86.9% - 89.7%., My pupils in Grade 4 successfully passed the National Exam (Grade 4 Literacy 86% and Numeracy 93%).
  • St. Richard’s Early Childhood Educational Centre, Teacher of Early Childhood, 09/2002, 08/2007, Kingston, Jamaica, St. Richard's Early Childhood Education Centre is one of Jamaica's best early childhood institutions with qualified, caring, and vibrant teaching staff. It is considered a model school by several Teacher's Colleges whose student teachers have benefited during their teaching practice experience. The school is neighbour to two (2) volatile communities in Kingston; occasionally, there is a flare-up of violence. Teachers and priests usually give children affected/traumatized by events such as special attention where they are counselled. There are 160 students with six (6) teachers, a principal, a cook, and a janitor completing the staff complement. There are six (6) classrooms, two (2) classes each of the same age group. The student-teacher ratio is 27:1, and each classroom has good furniture and space to ensure that the learning environment is conducive to all learners. This institution provides an excellent enrichment programme. It offers a wide variety of innovative activities and lessons to meet each child’s individual needs for learning, enhancing new skills and promoting each child's independence., Teacher of Early Childhood (3–5-year-olds), Summer school Stimulation coordinator, School Board Representative, Outreach Programme Officer, After School Care Supervisor, Sports Coordinator, I supported an enriched early stimulation program by implementing workshops and seminars.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy reading, dancing, listening to music, watching television, and socializing. As a teacher, I exhibit leadership in multiple, sometimes overlapping, ways. Some of my leadership roles are formal, with designated responsibilities. Other more informal roles emerge as I interact with my peers. My variety of roles ensures that I can find ways to lead that fit my talents and interests. Regardless of the roles I assume, I shape the culture of my school, improve students learning, get parents involved, and influence positive practice among my peers.
