Accomplishments
"Don't Lose Sight of Me" – Child Safety Tracking System (11/2017 - 04/2018)
Developed an innovative child safety tracking system designed to prevent children from getting lost, particularly in crowded areas. The system consisted of:
- A Parent Mobile App: Built using App Inventor, allowing real-time location tracking and alerts.
- A Child’s Smart Wristband: Developed using Arduino and a Bluetooth module to monitor proximity.
- Instant Alerts: If the child moved beyond a predefined safe distance, the system triggered an alert to notify the parent.
This project was awarded Second Place in the Salfit Governorate at the Palestine Smart Phone Applications Fair for its innovative approach to child safety.
Generating Electricity from Crowded City Sidewalks (09/2017 - 02/2018)
Designed a prototype that harnesses kinetic energy from pedestrian foot traffic to generate electricity using piezoelectric technology. The project aimed to:
- Utilize pressure-sensitive materials embedded beneath sidewalks to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.
- Provide a sustainable energy source for urban areas, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
