  • Startup Leadership: Integral member of the founding team, driving the buildout of ECHE Limited from the ground up. Directed all IT-related aspects, contributing to the company becoming operationally profitable within the first 5 months.
  • IT Infrastructure Development: Orchestrated collaborative efforts with vendors to architect and deploy the company's comprehensive IT infrastructure. This included structured cabling, network configuration, digital cash counter deployment, workstation setup, and establishing robust cybersecurity protocols.
  • Core Application Rollout: Played a pivotal role in the successful deployment of Morphis, the core application critical to ECHE's operations and widely used in the cash management industry. This rollout was key to transitioning the company from startup phase to full operational status.
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting: Developed a suite of operational reports within the core application and created dynamic dashboards using Power BI. These tools empowered stakeholders with actionable data, facilitating informed decision-making.

ensure seamless execution of several infrastructure projects. Some of my key achievements in this
role include;

  • Directed the comprehensive development of IT infrastructure for our newly constructed
    headquarters in Kingston. Managed all aspects, from initial planning and design to final
    implementation and maintenance, ensuring alignment with company requirements and future
    scalability. Implemented physical cabling, UPS solution and networking solutions to establish a
    robust infrastructure that supported our operational needs effectively.
  • Built a Power BI dashboard to assist with cash counter management, allowing our team to
    visualize and analyze key data points related to cash count uptime and performance. This
    dashboard enabled our team to make data-driven decisions and implement process
    improvements.
  • Successfully implemented a cutting-edge camera surveillance solution, leading the project
    from proof of concept (POC) to full-scale implementation.

Senior Systems and Database Administrator

As the administrator for the JMMB Group's servers and databases, my primary focus was on the core banking system, which runs on AIX. I was responsible for ensuring its smooth operation, security, and efficiency. Some of my major achievements in this role include:

  • Serving as the technical lead in implementing a disaster recovery solution for JMMB's core banking system, utilizing Double-Take (MIMICS) technology to minimize potential downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Redesigning the backup procedures for the core banking system, resulting in a significant reduction in the application's nightly downtime from 4 hours to just 10 minutes.
  • Leading the planning, coordination, and execution of the upgrade for JMMB's core Microsoft SQL Server databases, which supported 50 critical applications across the entire group, ensuring that the databases remained up-to-date and highly performant.
  • Collaborating with external consultants to bolster our core banking platform by introducing a High Available solution, which complemented our existing disaster recovery solution and provided added resiliency and redundancy.

Database Administrator

LIME, formally Cable and Wireless Jamaica

  • Served as LIME’s the technical lead in the implementation of MySQL enterprise within the organization
  • Provided supported to the application development team by creating and maintaining several oracle database objects and PLSQL procedures that works in tandem with core OLTP applications that they developed
  • Created, configured and maintained several databases that support key applications. These configurations include the implementation of Oracle data-guard and Oracle RAC.
  • Assisted report writers with query optimization
  • Implemented the Chief Information Officer’s initiative to make Informatica Power Center LIME’s primary Data Integration tool. I was responsible for liaising with the vendors and ensuring that the solution we received was tailored to meet the company’s requirements
  • Redesigned and converted several Data Integration scripts written in UNIX shell script and PL/SQL, to Informatica mappings
  • Redesigned the ETL that is currently being used regionally to move prepaid GSM data from the source system to the data warehouse environment. I made the ETL more resilient and faster.
