  • Integrates external accounts into the Bank’s centralized database system to meet the requirements of the Government of Jamaica, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, United Nations, Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and other relevant external users
  • Provides leadership and analytical guidance to staff on the compilation and analysis of all external and monetary statistics in particular Remittances, External Debt, Foreign Direct Investment, Portfolio Investment, International reserves, and trade in goods and services
  • Provides leadership and analytical guidance to staff in the external sector statistics Section and facilitate staff development
  • Coordinates external sector surveys that serve as inputs to Jamaica’s IIP, BOP, External Debt, Remittances, Foreign Direct Investment, Coordinated Direct Investment Survey (CDIS), and Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey (CPIS)
  • Manages ongoing research for the production and improvement in Jamaica’s BOP, IIP and External Debt statistics while supervising the presentation of research work on Jamaica’s external sector and the external debt to the Senior Management of the Bank and at international seminars, conferences and workshops
  • Managing the development, design and automation of the Banks' links of macroeconomic databases, survey questionnaires and procedures, data collection operations, data analysis, evaluation and the dissemination of survey results
  • Coordinating surveys of credit conditions and other ad-hoc or routine surveys that may arise
  • Ensuring the preparation of reports arising from surveys relating to remittances, the BOP, IIP, FOF and credit conditions
  • Establishing and maintaining functional relationships with survey respondents in relevant public and private sector companies for cooperation in response to external sector surveys inclusive of communicating with enterprises on information requirements for the production of the international accounts
  • Conducting training for sectoral representatives inclusive of Deposit Taking Institutions, Securities Dealers, Insurance Companies, Hotels, Shipping Companies, among others in the completion of external sector surveys
  • Liaising with external agencies and data providers such as Ministry of Finance, the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN), The Customs Agency of Jamaica, Financial Services Commission (FSC), JAMPRO, the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), financial and non-financial corporate institutions, other Central Banks, the International Monetary Fund and other multilateral institutions to enhance the flow of data and all relevant information to the Bank
  • Collaborating with the Information Systems Department in identifying, acquiring, maintaining and upgrading computer systems/software to support the Division’s statistical and other objectives
